Food and Grocery Code Review

Food and Grocery Code Review Main Image

31 January 2024

Labor knows that cost of living pressures, especially the cost of groceries, are putting Australians under the pump.

To help combat this issue, the Albanese Government has commissioned an independent review of the Food and Grocery Code. This Code regulates business dealings between farmers, suppliers, wholesalers, and supermarkets, and the review will make sure the code is working to give farmers a fair go.

Submissions to the review are now open, and we encourage those in the sector to have their say.

You can find more information on the Food and Grocery Code Review and how to make a submission at  https://treasury.gov.au/review/food-and-grocery-code-of-conduct-review-2023
You can submit responses to this consultation until 29 February 2024.
